8th Annual Open House

On Saturday, April 11th, from 10am 2pm, our 8th Annual House will feature live music, wine, snacks, tours of the facility, previews of the many rare, unusual and hard-to-find plant material we offer for your gardens. A landscape design consultation service will also be available during the Open House to assist you in planning, design, estimating and getting your project scheduled.

York Area Pet Bird Club Show

On Saturday, May 30th, a very special exhibit for children and adults of all ages will be presented in the Main Greenhouse: exotic birds on display continuously from 10am 2pm; and special birds doing all kinds of tricks with two shows at 11am and 1pm. Plus, all of the birds will be available for close-up viewing and care discussions with their owners.

Some of the birds on display will be: parrots, American parakeet, Cockateil, Moluccan Cockatoo, Black Capped Conure, Namday Conure, Patagonian Conure, Red Lored Amazon, Double Yellowhead Amazon, Yellow Naped Amazon, Blue Fronted Amazon, Pacific Parrotlet, Indian Ringneck parakeet, Black Headed Caique, Blue and Gold Macaw, Green Wing Macaw, Senegal Parrot, Lutino Peached Faced Love Bird and the African Grey Parrot of Congo origin.

Hardy Cactus.

There are hundreds of unusual cactus and related succulents which can easily live in our USDA Zone 6. We now feature 92 varieties, in all sizes, shapes and forms. Just one more reason why "No Other Garden Center, Nursery or Mass Merchandiser Even Comes Close."

Remember that our final frost date for this area (USDA Hardiness Zone 6b) is still April 20th, so be careful in setting out any new, tender seedlings or plants until after that date. Anything that has wintered over in our Production 1-6 Greenhouses is ready to go into the ground at any time; no worry there.
