The Weather Channel - Smart Viewing

Weather does drive everyone; that is, control everyone's activities to some extent. Gardening is no exception. It's probably one of the most weather-driven and influenced of all pastimes, hobbies and businesses. So before anyone at this Garden Center & Nursery schedules any outdoor gardening activities, landscape jobs or projects, we always check The Weather Channel. It's available on York Cable TV, Channel 42.

Those of you in Southern York County, can view The Weather Channel available through Frederick Cablevision.

We're on both cable systems. Wave when you see us!

If you're online with the InterNet, you can access The Weather Channel at

http://www.weather.com/ and get the information firsthand and quickly.

Special Heirloom, High-Quality Gardening Tools

Hardly a day goes by without someone purchasing one of our special stainless steel English, Swiss or American Gardening Tools.

Our tools are made of the finest materials, assembled in a way as to prohibit breakage, and will last beyond a lifetime. Guaranteed. You'll only purchase these tools once, instead of every spring.

Start a tradition and pass these tools down to your children as family heirlooms.

Invest in quality. Exactly why we carry only those brands such as Latshaw's Estate and Chelsea Collections, Sheffield Pride, Felco, Yankee Craftsman and Garden Tools of Maine. Ask to see this line-up when you visit; after all, buying something once that lasts a lifetime is a sign of Yankee wisdom and practicality, not self-indulgence.

Christmas is on its way; why not give a gift that lives several lifetimes?

Don't Buy Cut, Dead Christmas Trees

You wouldn't buy dead perennials or annuals from us, so why would you buy dead, cut Christmas Trees from street corner and empty lot vendors or "The Dead Tree Merchants"? These forest products companies cut trees by the tens-of-thousands at Christmas Holidays, at a time when the World needs more trees, not less.

Time to break with the traditional stupidity of cut, dead trees.

Think about it:isn't it silly when you can purchase a Live B&B (balled & burlapped) Tree, enjoy it for a week or more during the Christmas Holidays, and then plant it out and watch it grow for many years to come. By adding a new tree yearly to your landscape, you've increased the value of your home at no extra cost over a dead, cut tree.

With a little forethought and preparation, which we can help you with, you and your family can experience the excitement that only a Live Tree can bring to the Holidays.

The world doesn't need more trees killed, the world needs more live trees.

Cut, dead Christmas Trees ruin the earth, make unscrupulous people rich and do nothing for your landscape.

Ask for details the next time you're here and we'll help you prepare for a whole new tradition that your family and the Earth will thank you for.

If you're online with the InterNet, you can read an article of mine published and read by millions of people worldwide at http://www.dsiegel.com/diary/dec.11.96.html,

that hopefully helped to change some traditional attitudes about Live Christmas trees vs cut, dead trees. Enjoy.
