Missed Issues? No, you didn't miss the Spring and Summer issues of Roots & Shoots; we didn't publish them due to some outside vendor technical reasons and personnel problems. We apologize if you thought you'd been left out or if you missed some of the ongoing Workshops. If you're online with the InterNet, you can always access our Workshops Page ( http://www.gdnctr.com/work.htm) for updated and current Seminars and Workshop dates. I have been assured that all is back to "normal" now, and future issues will come to you on a regular basis and in a timely fashion. Corporate Web Site. For those online with the InterNet, our corporate Web Site offers a vast, rich area to spend hours reading articles, unusual ads and plenty of helpful information, plus links to other areas of useful horticultural topics. You don't have to search for anything; it's all right there. (Screenshot of Home Page needed here, Dorothy) Designed as a 3rd Generation Web Site, it's been online since January 1996 and has garnered 32 awards ( http://www.gdnctr.com/awards.htm) worldwide; something no other horticulture site even comes close to. I suggest that you use Netscape v3.02 or better and RealAudio v2.0 to view and listen to it. There is an opening java Applet (http://www.gdnctr.com/) and Antonio Vivaldi's Four Seasons playing on the Main Page, as well as on the Journal Page (http://www.gdnctr.com/list.htm). The substandard browser software provided by AOL won't cut it. You'll miss all the fun of an exciting visit. You can take an automated Tour of the Garden Center & Nursery (http://www.gdnctr.com/tour1.htm); sit, relax, sip some lemonade and your Netscape browser will automatically take you to 8 pre- selected locations. We don't solicit business and conduct transactions online, though many thousands of people visiting wish we did and inquire so. Email (js@gdnctr.com) is an option that people use daily to ask me about landscape jobs, trough gardens, water gardens etc and can expect to receive a speedy reply. You can also read with the pundits (critics) have said in the media about this Site at (http://www.gdnctr.com/reviews.htm); they're very complimentary with their praise about what they see. There are over 200 pages in our Web Site for you to peruse; many people have spent hours and days there, and have still never finished. It's always growing; it's a work in progress. |
