Alpine Perennials
Alpine Perennials is one of the fastest growing areas of specialty
gardening. It's an ancient way of gardening with very special plants, dating back thousands of years. The diversity is astounding: there are several thousands of miniature plants are available for planting and display, depending upon your location's Hardiness Zone. You can check that here.
One of the biggest problems any gardener has is in choosing the right Alpine Perennial for the correct Hardiness Zone. Make sure you know what Hardiness Zone your plant(s) will live in comfortably.
The picture below is one of our many Hardy Alpine Trough Gardens displayed adjacent to the Main Retail Building, in the West Display Gardens. All the Alpines featured here are hardy to (minimum)USDA Zone 5 with proper siting, and have easily survived brutal Winter conditions for several years. Some are hardy up to USDA Zone 3. We combine Alpine Perennials with Miniature Conifers to create complete landscapes in troughs.
We exclusively use Patio Garden™ Conifers, from Iseli Nursery®, in Oregon, our long-time friend and supplier of the finest conifers, found anywhere in the world. We do propagate some of our own Alpine Perennials, and also buy-in many from Siskiyou Rare Plant Nursery, also in Oregon.
If these are your passion, as they are one of ours, please Contact Us, or FAX (717.246.2170) your "wish list" to us, so we can research it and let you know what we have in inventory, prior to your arrival.
